Medical Response Information

Lakeview Baptist Church is blessed to have a Medical Response Team (MRT) ministry. This ministry is composed of Lakeview members with a background in healthcare or public safety who are trained and equipped to respond to medical and injury emergencies on the Lakeview campus.

However, in certain cases, such as a Sudden Cardiac Arrest event, a nearby member can provide lifesaving assistance by using one of Lakeview's AEDs to treat a cardiac arrest victim even before a MRT member can respond.

The Medical Response Team invites you to review the information below that could help save a life in the event of a Sudden Cardiac Arrest emergency.

Responding to a Cardiac Emergency

Step 1.

Recognize Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

If an individual suddenly collapses, look for these signs of Sudden Cardiac Arrest:

- Unresponsive.
- Not breathing (no chest rise) or only gasping.

Step 2.

Call For Help.

Call 9-1-1 immediately and send someone to notify a Lakeview Security Team Member. The Medical Response Team will be notified by radio.

Step 3.

Get an AED and Use It Immediately.

AEDs are located in cabinets on the east end of the sanctuary. One is located to the left of the Welcome Center, the other is located at the top of the stairs.
