Formerly known as BLS for Healthcare Providers, the American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
class is the foundational course for CPR providers in a healthcare setting. This course provides information and hands-on practice in adult and pediatric CPR, including two-rescuer scenarios
and use of the bag-valve mask. BLS also covers foreign-body airway obstruction (conscious and unconscious), automated external defibrillation (AED) use, special resuscitation situations, and
other cardiopulmonary emergencies.
