While on patrol, Lithuanian Police are approached by a father in distress holding his lifeless 8-month-old infant in his arms. The infant began choking while eating in the car, and by the
time the police were encountered, had turned blue and became unresponsive. The police responded immediately by rushing the father and infant to the hospital where the object
was removed. Reportedly, the infant survived, but there is no mention as to whether there were any long-term effects from the event.
We commend the parents for seeking help, and the police for expediting the trip to the closest hospital. That being said, is there something different that could have been done to bring
about a better outcome? If this happened to you, whether in the shoes of the parents or the police, what would you have done?
